Good afternoon, everybody. This is Dave Karpinski with at the Parkhurst Field Foundation, coming to you live from our development of Parkhurst Field. I want to give you another little tidbit as to what is going on, down here.
First of all, a different perspective of our premier field. This is from what would have been about second base of the senior field, looking back over the development, and you can see a lot of activity going on, a ton of white flags. You see those all in the distance. That is the outfield wall of the new premier field, which goes all the way over just shy of the shed in the distance. And you can see the, the hole, the ditch where concrete is coming in shortly to do the piers for the grandstand.
But what I wanted to show you is out here in what used to be the senior field, you can’t really see it from the road, but a lot of work has been going on for the last couple months.
This for everybody, for all the kids who are playing minors baseball is your new temporary minors field because we took two fields out and we’re building one premier field. We needed something for the minors kids, the nines, and the 10 year olds, and this, we cut into the senior field. So we’ve brought in three loads of infield dirt, we’ve marked a home plate. You see lines down there. We used the old senior field fence as your outfield wall.
What’s really kind of cool about this is if you can see in the distance we’ve got it marked for both 46, 60, and 50 70. So anybody from essentially eight years to 13 years old can play on this regulation field. This is the field we have replaced, because we won’t need them for the premier field.
We’ve taken the seating. We’ve moved it over. And you can see secondarily this line here is the new fence line. We have yet to install the fences with a 6 by 24 dugout and an entrance of the little door already marked here. So you’ll be sitting here in the dugout watching your team play on the new minor league field here at Parkhurst Field. It’s not the grandstand, it’s not the premier field, but it is one heck of an upgrade for our 8, 9, and 10 year olds. That’s it about now for from Parkhurst Field, again, Dave Karpinski. I’ll continue to give updates as as they’re available. Thanks.
