Good morning everybody. This is Dave Karpinski, Parkhurst Field Foundation, giving another live update. I’m here today with, uh, Mike Hauser. Let’s see if I can spin this around. Behind us is, is the development of the week, but I’ll start with this. The infield of the new premier field at Parkhurst is laid down. The fence is up, and completely enclosed – only one coat of paint on it, but the next ones are coming, and then, the entire outfield and infield has, real nice dirt that is ready now for this week. On Wednesday will be delivered the sod. So this week, this time next week, when we give an update, you will have 100% grass on this field, in time to set and be ready for spring.
But when I flip around the big development of the week, the bigger development of the week, if you will, is the grand stands, framing all the steel, half right now, painted, primed, if you will, for the green paint that will paint all the steel. The seating will come later, after the roof is on, but this was all delivered this week. There’s some welding to still take place, but everything is in place for a 500, uh, person grandstand for the spring. A couple other developments there is as we walk around, so I’ll take you kind of through it.
This will be your dugouts. The dugouts are inside the field lower, you know, they’ll be chopped down to eight feet these posts, but they’ll be right in front of the grandstands, right in front of the stairways.
Then this entire grandstand will have an eight foot wall, that will continue and in case the entire place. So, these are your future dugouts. And then as we’ve been talking about your spectator booth, so you not only can sit up in the grand stands, but you can sit down here all the way down right field line and left field line and take in the open air. And then way in the distance is the bullpen area on both sides, right and left field for the players to warm up to come into the game. So, lots of developments this week. We knew it would go fast as soon as we got above ground and grass next week. It’s going to look like a real ball field.
So again, thank you – Everybody for, for your support. Mike and I have had a lot of people reaching out to us, and asking questions and asking how to get involved. You can check out our website, which is www.parkhurstfield.org and also Facebook and, keep the positive vibes coming. This is a real big development for this region.
Thanks for all your support. Take care.
