M.S. Northrup Dies Suddenly
Well Known Authority on the Glove Industry and Prominent Manufacturer, Expires Witnessing Ball Game.
M. Saxton Northrup, senior member of the well known glove firm of Northrup Glove Manufacturing company, died suddenly of heart trouble while attending the baseball game between Syracuse and J. & G. team at J. & G. park last Thursday pm. The announcement of the sad occurrence came as a shock to the citizens of Johnstown and as the news quickly spread over the city, expressions of regret were heard everywhere. The deceased was one of the best known residents of Fulton County. He was a public spirited man whose work for the welfare of the city was conspicuous, and was a pioneer in the glove manufacturing business, whose knowledge of leather and glove making was authoritive .
