Well, happy Saturday to everybody. This is Dave Kapinski with the Parkhurst Field Foundation, giving a live update, uh, on Saturday morning. I just want to bring everybody up to speed of the progress of the week. Let me see if I can turn this around. How you doing?
Right now, we’ve spent a lot of time this past week setting the infrastructure for the grand stands. I’m gonna turn this back around. You can see the walls, the pillars for the walls of supports all set up. These jumbo supports are for the steel. So you can see the big round supports are for the steel. The square wall supports. This is the back wall of the right wing. So all this will be storage, and where I’m looking in right here is the museum.
Then when you look down the left side, the wing, that’s gonna be our future gift shop. And then even further down on the left wing is our storage to run the league, tractors and such. So everything is set to backfill. So it looks a little, a little more like you can start seeing the structure coming into play. This coming week is a really big week. So basically every single one of these supports that you see right here, all the steel is coming on Monday next week. And you will see more than a dozen of these upright steel pieces come in that will support the roof and ultimately the grand stands, which will be delivered in about a month. So a lot of upright work will go, go on this week. The steel about 23 feet in the air, and the truss is on top of that.
So probably in about seven to 10 days you’ll see the entire grandstand structure go up, including the roof. At that point, you’ll really be able to understand the size and scope of that and what we’re, what we’re achieving.
So this coming week, upgrades roof. A couple weeks from there certainly is, is the seating itself. And at the same time all that’s going on top soil sod is, is going on the field. Infield dirt has already been delivered. It’s sitting over there in the corner. The field work will now begin now that the work for the infrastructure behind it is done.
So that’s the update. Hope, uh, hope everybody’s well. Again, as always, thank you for your support and continued interest in the project. If you’d like to get involved, uh, you can hit our website, www.parkhurstfield.org, or message us here on Facebook.
Thank you very much.
